REPORT ON SUPPORT STAFF MEETING 11TH MARCH 2022

The meeting was called to order by Mr. Kargbo, First Secretary followed by individual silent prayers. In his opening remarks as moderator of the meeting, welcomed the support staff and thanked them for honoring the invite and for their meaningful contributions in maximizing the desired aspirations of the Embassy. He further noted that the meeting was a continuation of the periodic meetings agreed to be held for support staff. The meeting according to him is creating a platform for the support staff to share their concerns with top management and to jointly proffer concrete remedies that would guarantee a healthy working relationship and work environment.

The Head of Chancery, Mr. James S. Lebbie in his statement alluded to the purpose of the meeting echoed by the moderator and informed them of the decision of top management to effect a shift in the management trajectory which is specific to Support Staff Matters. However, he was very clear on his designation as general overseer of all administrative matters in the Embassy but emphasized the need to devolve Support Staff matters to Mr. Kargbo while he handles the Diplomatic Staff. He admonished them to be supportive and report all support staff matters to Mr. Kargbo who will in turn report to him. The Minister Counsellor and Head of Chancery commended the support staff for their sensational roles and called on them to continue the good job. He registered a note of caution to all those who are having personal problems to leave them outside the gate of the Embassy and ensure they don’t affect the progress of the work.

Comments from the Support Staff were mainly focused on the need for healthy collaboration and respect for all and sundry. The Head of ICT Mr. Isac NSB Kargbo informed the meeting of the construction of the Embassy’s Portal and called for inclusive participation in the use of the portal. He admonished his colleagues and visitors to make good use of the portal and avoid hoarding information, with special emphasis on some Sierra Leoneans who are visiting the Embassy.

In conclusion, the Support Staff registered their commitments to continue giving their best in the job and called for unity, love and respect. The meeting was adjoined to a date to be determined by top management.
